Hiring plant in Germiston

As the hub of the East Rand rail and industrial network, Germiston sends most hired plant to factory yards, logistics platforms, rail sidings and pipeline repairs, with residential jobs in Primrose and Bedfordview. Old mine dumps and reclaimed land leave variable fill that needs testing before a platform is built, and Witwatersrand shale and quartzite can turn rocky within a metre or two. Excavators, rollers and tipper trucks are the usual combination, often with a water cart for dust. Rain arrives in heavy storms from October to March, and low ground around Germiston Lake drains slowly. The N3, N12 and R24 interchanges make the area easy to reach but congested.

Typical jackhammer hire requests in the area come from:

  • Factories, warehouses and logistics parks: breaking out worn factory floors and old machine bases before new plinths are cast
  • Roads, pipelines and civil works: pneumatic breakers opening road surfaces and pavements for pipe and cable repairs
  • Shopping centres, offices and schools: breaking floors for new drains and removing old shopfront plinths during refits
  • House plots and renovations: breaking an old driveway, bathroom floor or garden path before a renovation
  • Mines and quarries: breaking oversize rock, concrete spillage and old footings around process plants
  • Housing estates and townships: trimming kerbs, breaking out bad concrete and cutting into slabs for service connections

Why get a quote in Germiston first?

Prices for jackhammer hire in Germiston depend on the size of jackhammer, the hours or hire period, whether an operator and fuel are included, and how far it travels to your site.
